In summer, temperatures in Pakistan regularly rise to up to 50°C.
Thanks to your support, it was possible to purchase air conditioning for a community centre this summer. It significantly improves conditions for social and pastoral work. Older people, children, and families in particular benefit from this. What was often hardly possible before because of the heat can now take place in a protected space again. Many thanks!

Hückelhoven thanks volunteers
Every year, the mayor of the town of Hückelhoven, Bernd Jansen, invites the nominated associations to a volunteering celebration. In 2026, Upendoimo e.V. took part for the very first time. The relaxed atmosphere, the delicious buffet and the fine weather at Lake Adolfo enabled a lively exchange and many new ideas.

Here's to good neighbours!
Around the Red Cross building in Hückelhoven, colourful balloons were already welcoming exhibitors and guests to the 2026 neighbourhood festival early in the morning. Upendoimo e.V. was there to draw attention to our global neighbour: Africa, our neighbouring continent. What a colourful day, full of encouragement! Until next time!

The North Rhine-Westphalian Minister-President Hendrik Wüst paid tribute to the state's voluntary work
The invitation to the volunteer reception with our Minister-President was a very pleasant surprise. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia needs voluntary commitment as the mortar of society. „The cohesion of a society cannot be decreed, it can only be lived,“ said Hendrik Wüst, thereby emphasising the indispensability of volunteering.
May this awareness grow and gain recognition in NRW.
